Advanced notice of the next Wednesday evening meeting at the Glenfield Clinical Education Centre from 1730-1900 on 28th June.
This month has a renal theme – UHL have implemented Citrate anticoagulation for their CVVH circuits across the General and Glenfield and it is due to start soon at the LRI. This month includes a session from Baxter (who make the PrismaFlex system that we use for CVVH) to give an introduction to how it works, and the practicalities of prescribing and administering.
First session with an external speaker so hope to see lots of people there! Citrate (and in particular citrate toxicity) is a bit of an exam topic, so this is a great opportunity to de-mystify CVVH and to prepare for the introduction of citrate.
